I recently burned a copy of really fantastic documentary for a friend. But the problem with burning DVD’s is that they’re generally cold and impersonal. So, I decided to invest 15 minutes in making simple Disc Box Slider case for the the DVD.

I created a black and white sleeve as well as a manila colored sleeve.

Early Christmas Shopping

The always interesting and innovative Warren Ellis has a great thing going on over on his Whitechapel forum. From the forum:

Because, satan help up, it’s going to be bloody Xmas soon.

So, first off, people with Etsy stores: help us find Xmas gifts for the people we can barely stand but have to give pretty things to in December.

PLEASE.

There’s been a great and wonderful slew of items to whet your consumer appetite.

Here are few items that got me interested.

This is by far my favorite piece. A gorgeous set of goggles that make me weak in the nerdy knees.

I’m a sucker for robots. Give me robots depicted in such and sweet and charming way and I’m sold.

(Irreverie – Alternative Fashion and Accessories)

And finally these bits of goodness, made from found objects. I really dig they organic textures and ornamentation on these.

There’s tons more entries over on the forum and they’re worth checking out.

The Good Book

Finished up work a book I’ve been working on for a day or two. This littler bugger was folded, stitched, and glued by my oafish and clumsy hands (mostly).

I’m really happy with the results. This little sucker is going to be given to my girlfriend for her birthday. It’s blank on the inside and contains a pocket on the inner cover which can be used for loose pieces of paper, receipts, and other miscellaneous junk.

I really owe a big Thank You to a friend who patiently walked me through the entire process – which took hours. Really, really appreciate it, Thanks a bunch, Matt!
