Lee Murray is believed to have been the robber known as “Stopwatch”.
We have stepped into a new dimension where criminals are known by supervillain-esque monikers. I’m anxiously awaiting the bat-signals appearance on the night skies.

“Never love a wild thing… You can’t give your heart to a wild thing: the more you do, the stronger they get. Until they’re strong enough to run into the woods. Or fly into a tree. Then a taller tree. Then the sky. That’s how you’ll end up… If you let yourself love a wild thing. You’ll end up looking at the sky.”

My favorite portrait of American crime novelist James Ellroy features the author with drooping shoulders, eyes heavy-lidded and an expression of enervation. The darkness in his eyes haunts the viewer and subject alike; son of a murdered mother, former alcoholic and profiler of obsession, the pain immediately evident.
A closer inspection reveals a steely resolve. Author of 14 novels, numerous short stories, and showing no sign of slowing down.
Ellroy rules, other writer drool.
